Good morning, everyone! December is rolling along. Just 10 more sleeps until Santa and his magical reindeer leave the North Pole to make their way to your house. Today’s post is a change of pace and something a little fun. Here are 15 sure-fire ways to get on Santa’s nice list. It’s not too late. Let’s start a kindness revolution!
And, if you don’t believe in Santa, just look at these things as a way to bring a little joy and light into the world. It’s no secret that 2020 and 2021 have been difficult years for so many people. One of these small actions could make all the difference for someone.
15 ways to get on Santa’s nice list
- Donate to a charity to help those in need. If money is tight, donate your time.
- Buy an angel tree gift or offer to buy gifts for the children of a friend who’s struggling financially.
- Volunteer at a food bank or homeless shelter.
- Check in on a neighbour who lives alone.
- Bake cookies for your co-workers.
- Be an ally and speak out against discrimination.
- Pay for the coffee or lunch of the next person in line.
- Extend an olive branch to someone from whom you are estranged by sending them a Christmas card.
- Post only positive things on social media, and keep scrolling past the negative.
- Tip your server and other service providers generously.
- Be kind to store clerks. They are tired and overworked this year more than ever.
- Give compliments instead of criticisms.
- Let someone go ahead of you in the store line.
- Invite a friend who would spend Christmas alone to Christmas dinner.
- Make these random acts of kindness everyday things.

Spreading holiday cheer in the HoHoHoliday 5K
This year, some co-workers and I decided to don our Santa suits and participate in the HoHoHoliday 5K in support of Make-A-Wish Canada. It was great to get outside, see people I haven’t seen in person in almost two years, and raise money for a great cause. Here’s the evidence!
Let’s start a kindness revolution!
Finally, if you’re starting to think about setting some goals for the new year, why not add some of these to your list? If every person made just a little more effort, the world would be a much better place.

I try to do most of these but not perfect! Volunteering at a foodbank is something I’ve always wanted to do with Charlotte so hopefully we can do that in a year or two when she’s bit older! 🙂
You don’t need to be perfect. Just imagine if everyone did just one or two of these things!
A group of us from work did a food sort challenge at the Food Bank a few years ago. It was a lot of fun and very educational too.
What a wonderful list! I’m going to see how many I can check off by Christmas. 🙂 A Santa run sounds amazing. I’m going to see if there is one around me.
Thanks Suzanne. The Santa run was a lot of fun and we had the perfect day for it—light snowfall but not too cold or windy.
That is great. I think it would be a blast to watch.
I would love to do it again when it’s a big event. Because of COVID, this year was virtual but we got a small group together from work and did our own.
What a lovely reminder of how a little kindness goes a long way! Happy Christmas!
Thank you so much. Happy Christmas to you too!
You look fantastic as Santa. 🎅
Ha ha. Thank you. Unfortunately some of the ladies didn’t get their Santa 🧑🎄 suits in time but we made the best of it. It was a lot of fun!
