October is here so it’s time for my September 2025 blog roundup. As I sit here wondering what happened to September, the temperatures still feel very much like summer, although it looks like that’s about to change.
Along with a summary of my writing activity last month, my September 2025 blog roundup has terrific posts on the difficulty of doing nothing, terms and conditions for well-being, and redefining success.
Happy reading!

Cool things I read in September
Since publishing my first monthly roundup at the end of 2020, it has been an honour to introduce you to some of my favourite bloggers. I started the roundup to say thank you to the blogging community and bring attention to talented writers who create inspiring and informative content.
Here are 3 pieces that captured my attention in September.
Why Doing Nothing is the Hardest Thing I’ve Ever Tried – Aspiring Blog
As someone whose mind is always racing, I found this post from Ritish so relatable. He discusses why doing nothing is so difficult, and why it’s so important.
And the interesting part is, it’s not because my body refuses to be still. It’s my mind. That little thought machine just won’t shut up.

The Important Terms and Conditions for our Well-being – Unwanted Life
My theme for 2025 is intentionality, so this terrific post from Unwanted Life was right up my alley! We’re all familiar with those terms and conditions pages on various websites, but what are the terms and conditions for how we live our lives? This is an excellent exercise to be sure we’re setting boundaries and living according to our values.
When looking to create our own terms and conditions focused on personal wellbeing, it’s essentially about setting clear boundaries and guidelines for how we protect and nurture our own physical, mental, and emotional health.

Are you successful? – Retired and Now What?
How do you define success? Has it changed over time? In this insightful piece, Caroline suggests traditional quantifiable measures of success might not be the best indicators.
When our self-worth is tied to something that we DO have control over, such as daily learning and growing, or being kind to others, then we can have continued success all our lives.

That first post in your roundup really struck a chord with me. Doing nothing sounds easy but is actually so tough. I loved reading someone put that struggle into words.
Right! I felt the same way. I found myself nodding my head a lot as I read Ritish’s post. Thanks for reading, Alessia!
Wow – what thoughtful posts. Thank you so much for sharing so much thought-provoking goodness, Michelle!
Thank you Wynne!
Loved your September roundup, Michelle. Such a great mix of posts and voices. And thank you so much for featuring my piece. Always enjoy the way you pull everything together with your own reflections too.
My pleasure, Ritish. It was a terrific post and I was happy to feature it.
Thank you for highlighting these posts. The post on doing nothing really spoke to me.
I know. Me too! I feel like a squirrel sometimes—rushing from task to task.
Oh wow. Thanks for including me in your roundup. I’m glad you liked my interesting take on prioritising our well-being
My pleasure. It was a terrific post that went beyond self-care which is often so fluffy and got to the heart of living in alignment with our values. Great stuff!
