Delightful December blog posts for you to read

As we turn the calendar to a new month, and a new year, it’s time for my monthly roundup of favourite blog posts from last month. The blogging community was a little quieter in December as many bloggers took a well-deserved break to rest and recharge. Nevertheless, I’ve put together a list of six delightful December blog posts that you really must read.

This monthly roundup is my way of saying thank you to the blogging community, and highlighting some of my favourite bloggers who regularly put out funny, inspiring and informative content.

Please grab a cup of coffee and take a few minutes to read these posts. I’m sure you’ll love them. And don’t forget to explore some of the other content from these bloggers and give them a follow.

How to protect your home while traveling – Mark’s Travel Journal

If you’ll be heading away for a winter break, check out Mark’s post on ways to make sure your home isn’t a target for burglars while you’re gone.

Certainly, the last thing you would want to happen to you during your holiday is a burglary. All of the lovely memories you make on your trip could be outright tainted by such an awful experience. So, instead of becoming a crime statistic, you should do everything in your power to outsmart burglars.

Are you attempting to remove clutter from your life? Read this first – Happily Decluttered

If your goal for 2022 is decluttering, Suzanne’s post is a great place to start!

There is a great deal of information and advice out there on how to declutter your home and your life, but the truth is, you’re not going to find a secret formula that works perfectly for you in any one place.

Five misconceptions about disabled people – Invincible Woman on Wheels

In this eye-opening post, Em shares five misconceptions about disabled people that might surprise you.

I often wonder how I’d answer the question “what’s the hardest part of being disabled?” If I was ever asked. I think my true answer is, actually being disabled isn’t the hard bit. It’s the perceptions and responses of non-disabled people to my disability that I find the toughest.

I bought my son a doll—Here are 5 excellent reasons why – Crispy Confessions

Parents take note! In this fabulous post, Helen rejects gender stereotypes and explains why she bought her son a doll.

Why should gender differences dictate what children can or cannot play with? Gender does not dictate what we like. Regardless of whatever is between our legs, we should be allowed to play with and do whatever we like — and that is what I want him to know.

Six science-backed reasons to get outside – Micro of the Macro

If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know I make a point of going for a walk in the fresh air every day—year round! In this post, Lisa looks at the science behind why getting outside is good for you.

Research shows time and time again how Nature makes us healthier. And increased vigilance due to ongoing covid concerns doesn’t preclude getting outside. In fact, being out in the elements can be a better bet than staying indoors.

Accessibility: How to make your website and blog more accessible – Unwanted Life

As bloggers, we all want as many people as possible to read our blog posts. This excellent post includes some simple tips to make your blog more accessible to people with disabilities. I’ve already adopted some of the new tips I learned!

Look, we’re not all going to be able to follow every single piece of accessibility advice, and that’s ok. Even I won’t be able to do all of them, and I’m an invisible disability blogger. I just suggest doing what you can to help make your site more accessible where and when you can.

  1. Hi, Michelle! This popped up in my reader again today. Thanks again! I have been missing you. I hope all is going well! ☀️

  2. Michelle, thanks so much for including my post in this “Delightful Posts” roundup! I will check out the other posts, as well. This is such a great idea. I’ll have to consider how I might showcase the talent of others on my site as well. Thanks again! 🌞

  3. This is a great list, Michelle! I’m looking forward to reading all of them! I have been so inspired by your decluttering! I literally went back to my closet about a week ago, and ended up with three large bags of clothes to donate (which I’ve now done). I had tried to declutter the closet a while back, but couldn’t seem to part with sweaters that I’ve owned for (how many?) years! But now that I have it feels great. Thank you, Michelle! Cher xoxoxo

    1. Thanks Cher. I hope you enjoy them.

Ooh I’m happy to hear about your decluttering. It’s funny how some of those things we can’t get rid of on the first round. Glad to hear you were able to do it!

I'd love to hear your ideas. Drop me a comment below.
