And just like that, the last day of 2024 is upon us. What an eventful year it has been! Once again, I’ll wrap up the year with a look at some of the highlights of 2024 here on Boomer Eco Crusader, along with a sneak peek at what’s coming in 2025.

Blog highlights of 2024

Here’s a recap of the highlights of the year on the blogging front.

• In total, I published 103 new posts, and I also refreshed and updated my 2021 posts.
• I was delighted to kick off the year with a guest post on Happy Eco News—one of my favourite sites for positive environmental news. In Microforests Take Root in Communities Around the World, I shared the story of my involvement with a local microforest project.
• I continued The Sunday Spark series for a second year. These posts are fun to write, and they give me an opportunity to reflect at the end of each week and share things I learned.
• Another highlight of the year was the reboot of my popular 52-Week Decluttering Challenge. Every Friday, I republished one of my posts from 2021 with new tips, learnings, and progress.
• In July, I celebrated my 5^th “blogiversary”.
• The Climate Change Collective group I started with Jamie Adams in the middle of 2022 celebrated its 2^nd anniversary.
• I continued to post on Wise & Shine on Mondays.
• In October, I launched my new website to support my retirement coaching business. If you’re interested in content related to retirement and reinvention, visit SecondLifeVision.com.
• I don’t pay too much attention to numbers and stats but, my total number of views dropped by about 15% this year. It’s the first year since I launched my blog that I’ve seen a dip in numbers.

Favourite posts of 2024

I always enjoy looking back at the posts I’ve written over the year and sharing my favourites. These posts aren’t the ones with the most views, but they are pieces I’m proud of.

Looking ahead to 2025

Before I close the book on another year, I’ve been thinking about what comes next for Boomer Eco Crusader. It has taken me five years, but I’m finally in a decent groove. With that in mind, I don’t plan any huge changes. Here is a peek at what’s coming this year:

• Following up on the 52-Week Decluttering Challenge, the theme for this year will be Simplify Your Life! Look for more details on that in tomorrow’s post.
• I’ll post every Tuesday, and The Sunday Spark series will return for a third year.
• As the Climate Change Collective rolls through its third year, we’d love to welcome some new members. Drop me a note if you’d like to join this group of environmentally conscious bloggers.
• I’ll continue to review and refresh my older posts, focusing on content from 2022.
• And, after five years, it may be time to refresh the theme of my blog website. That’s a scary thought!
