February is heart month. It’s a month associated with romance and heart health. A few weeks ago, Eric over at The Thoughtful Beggar invited me to write a piece about love for their February “Love Is” collaboration series.
For me, it’s a huge compliment to be invited by another blogger to contribute to this kind of collaboration. Although, or maybe because, I’ve been married for over 25 years, I don’t consider myself an expert on love and romance. As a writer, though, it’s good to step outside your comfort zone. It’s great to challenge yourself to write something different once in a while.
So, I took the same approach as I did with the 24 Wishes For Our World Christmas Collaboration post I wrote for my friends at T.B.C…, and the recent Lessons in Loss post for Smelly Socks and Garden Peas. I sat down and spent some time pondering. As I reflected, I thought of how love changes throughout our lives, and how that compares to the changes in seasons we experience very year.
Please visit The Thoughtful Beggar and have a look at my post Seasons of Love. I’d be interested to hear your feedback. Do you agree with my thoughts on how love changes throughout our lives?
While you’re there, check out Eric and April’s “online magazine dedicated to thought, and the sharing of it with like-minded people.” The thoughtful content on the site site is complemented by April’s original artwork.
And, since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, check out yesterday’s post 14 eco-friendly Valentine’s gifts to fit your budget.

Your post on “The Thoughtful Beggar” is wonderful, Michelle! I agree with you about love changing over time. I have a certain idea now of what I think love is, and it is quite different than it was years ago. I would like to think that with age comes a clearer picture of what love means to us and what we cherish. Thank you for such a beautiful post! Cher xoxoxo
Thanks Cher. When I was younger, I thought I knew what love was. Now I’m not sure I did. As my Dad used to say “We live and learn.” 💖
Agreed, Michelle. I feel the same way. Your Dad was right! Cher xoxo
This sounds like a very interesting read. I can definitely agree how love changes throughout our lives. I believe our love evolves around different situations and circumstances we experience.
Thank you. You’re right that love is impacted by the circumstances we find ourselves in.
You make writing out of your comfort zone seem so easy! Beautifully done!
Thank you Suzanne. I appreciate your kind words.
