Celebrating 3 years of climate change awareness and environmental education

Three years ago today, I published the first post for the Climate Change Collective—a group of bloggers dedicated to bringing awareness to the impact of environmental issues on our lives. To celebrate three years of climate change awareness, today’s post looks back on the terrific content our group has published over the last year.

About the Climate Change Collective

The Climate Change Collective started when I left a comment on a blog post by Jamie Ad Stories. Jamie and I wanted to find a way to keep environmental issues top of mind for everyone, so I posted on social media to see what kind of interest there would be in a climate-change-related blogging collaboration. The Climate Change Collective was born!

For over three years, the members our group took turns writing a monthly blog post sharing their unique perspective about climate change. After the lead post was published, the rest of the group kept the conversation going by sharing a link to the post on their blogs along with their thoughts and ideas.

Three years of climate change awareness

It’s hard to believe it has been three years since that first post about the impact of climate change on our health and our finances. Last year, we provided a recap of the posts from the first two years in Two years of the Climate Change Collective series.

From the outset, I have been so impressed by the quality and diversity of the topics the group has addressed. In a year when environmental issues and policies have been under attack, we have kept our focus on increasing climate change awareness by highlighting positive initiatives and providing insight into ways individuals can make a difference.

To celebrate the third anniversary of the Climate Change Collective, here’s a brief introduction to each member of our group, along with links to the posts they’ve contributed to the series in year three.

Jamie from Jamie Ad Stories

Jamie is a teacher and writer from the U.K. His blog offers a terrific mix of fiction, poetry, reviews of books and TV shows, and commentary on life and sustainability.

This year, Jamie contributed these posts toward our goal of increasing climate change awareness:

Krista and Alison from A Sustainably Simple Life

Krista and Alison are from the Vancouver, British Columbia area in Canada. Alison is a single person with a passion for living an environmentally conscious life. Krista is a married mother of two children, who aims to eat pesticide free in a budget-friendly manner. A key piece of Krista’s effort is an ever-expanding garden that she hopes will eventually allow for food production through the winter.

This year, Krista and Alison contributed these posts to our series:

Molly from Transatlantic Notes

Molly is a British writer who now lives in the United States. She has a passion for helping people navigate important stories and topics. Her blog explores the news events, social and environmental issues, and wellness practices that connect us all.

Here are the posts Molly contributed to the series this year:

Michelle from Boomer Eco Crusader

Finally, I’m Michelle from Boomer Eco Crusader. Living in southern Ontario in Canada, I’m a semi-retired mom of two young adult daughters. I started my blog six years ago to share tips on living a simpler and more sustainable life.

Here are the posts I’ve contributed to the series over the last year:

What a terrific roundup of posts on topics that matter to us all. Here’s to three years of increasing climate change awareness! I can’t wait to see what topics we explore in year four.

If you’d like to join our group, please get in touch for more information. The more voices we have amplifying our message, the better!
