In honour of Earth Day’s 50th birthday, today I am sharing pictures of five of my favourite places on Earth. I chose these places because of their breathtaking natural beauty. Enjoy.

5 of my favourite places on Earth
I am a proud Canadian and I have been fortunate enough to visit nine of our ten provinces and one of the territories. I might be biased, but three of my five favourite places are right here in Canada.
Icefields Parkway
First, we have the breathtaking beauty of the Canadian Rockies. The Icefields Parkway between Banff and Jasper is a spectacular drive. I have made this drive twice and was in awe the entire time.
Prince Edward Island
From the west to the east, there is so much to see in Canada. The next photo is from Canada’s tiniest province, Prince Edward Island. Between the red soil and rugged coastline, this Atlantic gem is a sight to behold.
Niagara Falls
Next we have a place that’s (almost) right in my backyard. Although I have probably been to Niagara Falls a hundred times in my life, it’s a place I never get tired of. The powerful roar of the water is like nothing I have ever seen or heard.

Pacific Coast Highway
Let’s leave Canada for a trip down the Pacific Coast Highway in California. With mountains on one side and the ocean on the other, it’s easy to understand the fascination with California. It’s right up there with the Icefields Parkway in terms of scenic drives.
Donegal, Ireland
Finally, we’ll visit my mother’s homeland of Ireland. As I was walking alongside this babbling brook in Donegal, it started to rain and the most beautiful rainbow appeared. I was expecting to see a leprechaun but there was no sign of the pot of gold.

Prince Edward Island is one of my dream trips! Anne of Green Gables was everything to me growing up, and still kind of in love with Gilbert blythe, not gonna lie LOL. These places look stunning!
Thank you! Yes, Prince Edward Island is beautiful. There’s nothing like that combination of red dirt/sand and sea air. The pace of life is so much more less frantic there too. And It was so cool to visit Green Gables. We saw “Anne of Green Gables: The Musical” in Charlottetown. It was amazing!
Happy Earth Day, Michelle! Absolutely gorgeous pictures! One of my favorite places is Maui, Hawaii. Its natural beauty (like your pics) is amazing. It’s almost as if it isn’t real!
Thanks Cher! As you know, we are planning a trip to Hawaii for November. But, now I am wondering if it will still happen.
Crossing fingers, praying, and sending out the positive vibes that everything is good by then! xo
I know exactly what you mean about things not looking real. We felt the same way the first time we went to Banff and Jasper.
I’ve only been to Jasper, but I sure felt that way too, Michelle! xo
