The Climate Change Collective is an initiative where the blogging community unites behind a common goal. In the most recent post in the series, Molly from Transatlantic Notes discusses why climate action doesn’t need to be perfect. This aligns perfectly with my philosophy around the environmental impact of small changes.
Our Climate Action Does Not Need to be Perfect
From the outset of my green living journey, I’ve been a firm believer in the motto Progress Not Perfection. That’s why I was delighted to see the title of Molly’s lead post for the Climate Change Collective.
If we’re paying attention—and I know my readers are—it’s easy to get discouraged by all the dire environmental news that we see every day. Sometimes I feel like my efforts are a drop in an ever-warming ocean.
As with everything in life, we have a choice. We can bury our heads in the sand like the infamous ostrich—or we can choose to act. We might not be able to change the world, but taking action can change our world. Doing anything, not matter how small, will make us feel more positive and reduce climate anxiety.
That’s one of the reasons I created my A Year of Weekly Sustainable Living Goals challenge and checklist for 2024. If you haven’t joined in, click the link to download your checklist. Start by checking off the changes you’ve already made. Congratulations! You’re making a difference! Then, look for other small swaps and get ready to adopt some new habits.
I encourage you to read Molly’s post. It has excellent tips to help you stay motivated, along with several suggestions on how you can get started on the road to sustainable living.
Every small effort contributes to the greater cause, and imperfect actions still make a difference. What matters is how we foster a consistent willingness to adapt and improve over time.

About the Climate Change Collective
The Climate Change Collective was born out of an exchange that took place when I left a comment on a blog post by Jamie Ad Stories. Jamie and I wanted to find a way to keep the climate change message top of mind for everyone, so I put out a tweet to see what kind of interest there would be in a climate-change-related blogging collaboration. The Climate Change Collective was born!
The members of the collective take turns writing a monthly blog post sharing their unique perspective about climate change. After the post is published, the rest of the group keeps the conversation going by sharing a link to the post on their blogs along with their thoughts and ideas.
If you’re a like-minded blogger and would like to join our collective, please get in touch. More voices joining the conversation means more attention to the problems plaguing our planet!

What small changes have you made to live more sustainably? Tell me your thoughts below.
I agree with Molly and you. Small steps matter. Many people making small changes equals massive benefits.
Agreed! That’s why the lack of responsibility frustrates me. Everyone looks at everyone else to find a solution instead of cleaning up their own house first.
Oh…I love Molly’s point about consistency. Yes, yes. Thanks, Michelle! 🥰
Exactly. I totally agree that slow and steady progress is key. Thanks for reading Vicki.
Xo! 🥰
