March has arrived and spring will be here soon, although you might not think so from the piles of snow at the end of our driveway. As we prepare to welcome spring, it’s time for my February 2026 goals update.
Read on to find out how February 2026 went, and what goals I’m setting for March.

February 2026 goals update
February is a short month. The Winter Olympics were on and I was away visiting my daughter Colleen in Charlottetown for 8 days. Going into the month, I adjusted my goals accordingly. Let’s look at how February went.

Fitness goals
For fitness, I kept my goals of 300 minutes of physical activity a week (including walks), along with 2 strength training and 3 balance/flexibility sessions each week. I ended the month with an average of 296 minutes a week.
Although the weather was still very cold, we did see an improvement over January. This meant I got pretty close to my goal of 20 outdoor walks. In total, I got out for 18 walks in February.
Health goals
I continued to make good progress on eating more fruits and vegetables. When I was away, I got lazy and didn’t track every day but overall I think I met this goal.
And I did really well with cutting out candy. There were only a couple of days when I snuck in some candy before 5 p.m. and when Lent started, I cut out candy, chocolate and potato chips altogether. Surprisingly, it hasn’t been all that difficult.
Reading
My reading goal for February was to read 4 books. I thought I would fall short but then I started a Freida McFadden novel on February 27 and finished it on February 28.
Here’s what I read in February:
- It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
- Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid
- The Romance Readers’ Book Club by Julie L. Cannon
- The Coworker by Freida McFadden
Writing
I planned to complete the first round of edits for my chapter for the upcoming Retirement Coaches Association book. As of the end of the month, I was still awaiting feedback on my first draft, so I carried this one over to March.
Intentional living
After making great progress tackling out-of-sight clutter in January, my February goal was to complete four 15-minute decluttering blitzes. I did it!

My March goals
I’m hopeful that the weather will be better in March, although a cold weather warning just popped up on my phone as I was typing this so I may be overly optimistic. Even so, I don’t have any travels planned in March so I kept that in mind when setting my goals for the month.
Here are my goals for March:
- Fitness:
- For fitness, I’m increasing my goal to 350 minutes of physical activity a week (including walks) along with 2 strength training and 3 balance/flexibility sessions each week.
- Spring is coming, so I’m planning to get outside more. I’ve set a goal of 25 walks for the month.
- Health:
- My Lenten junk food ban continues, so I’ll be limiting chocolate, candy and chips to one treat a week on Sundays.
- Lose 5 pounds. I generally shun the scale and focus instead on how I feel and how my clothes fit. To support my focus on health in 2026, I need to lose 11 pounds to get back to a healthy weight. With that in mind, my goal for March is to lose 5 pounds. I’m counting on my junk food ban to help me get there.
- Reading: After a slow reading month in February, I’m aiming for 6 books in March.
- Writing: Complete the first round of edits for my chapter for the Retirement Coaches Association book.
- Intentional living: Four 15-minute decluttering blitzes.

I thought about you over the weekend when I declutterred some messy bathroom drawers! It took very little time but geez…so satisfying! Congrats on all of your goals met and in progress! ❤️😉❤️
Thanks Vicki. Yes, decluttering is so therapeutic and satisfying. I’ve been at it again today! 😂 Tuesday is my day. I call it “Tidy-Up Tuesday”. 😉
Oh geez. So good! I’ll need to adopt that. Good to have a theme, right?! How about a little Queen to add inspirational oomph? 😜❤️😜
Ooh Queen. Now we’re talking! I’ll watch the video for “I Want to Break Free”. Seeing Freddie vacuuming in a skirt makes me laugh every time.
LOL! 😉😉😉
Very achievable goals
Nice progress, Michelle!
Thanks Erin. Considering I was away for 8 days and glued to the TV watching the Olympics, it turned out pretty well.
Absolutely!!
February is a shorter month but looks like you still got a lot accomplished, Michelle! 👏
Thanks, Ab! I’m glad March is here, and I see some warmer weather on the horizon!
