It’s time for my September 2026 goals report

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Yes, October is here with its beautiful colours, cool nights, and Thanksgiving celebrations. But before I get too excited, it’s time for my September 2026 goals report and a look ahead at my goals for October.

September 2026 goals report

After a busy summer, September offered an opportunity to get back on track. Let’s look at how the month went.

Fitness goals

My goal for the month was to get back to 400 minutes of physical activity every week—including walks—along with 2 strength training and 3 balance/flexibility sessions each week.

I met the first two goals with an average of 404 minutes a week, including 2.5 strength training sessions. I fell just short of my balance/flexibility goal with an average of 2.5 sessions a week.

Health goals

After overindulging a bit over the summer months, my goal was to lose that pesky pound to get back to my goal weight. I did it!

Reading

I met my reading goal of 6 books. Here’s what I read this month:

  • All the Other Mothers Hate Me by Sarah Harman
  • Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune
  • Waiting for the Long Night Moon by Amanda Peters
  • The Defector by Chris Hadfield
  • Saving Us by Katharine Hayhoe
  • Still See You Everywhere by Lisa Gardner

Intentional living

I completed four Tidy-Up Tuesday blitzes in September. Plus, I delivered a big duffel bag full of stuff to Colleen when I visited her.

Retirement coaching

I had planned to prepare a launch plan and schedule for my new Retirement Uncluttered workshop. I’m having a hard time getting motivated here. Other than some vague plans and a rough outline, not much is happening with this. Hopefully, the inspiration from the Retirement Coaches Association’s virtual conference will give me the kick start I need.

My October goals

Overall, I’m happy with my progress on personal goals in September. Here’s what I have planned for October.

  • Fitness: I’m aiming to maintain my goal of 400 minutes of physical activity—including walks—along with 2 strength training and 3 balance/flexibility sessions each week. Plus, I plan to finish the last week of the 25 in 25 Challenge on the Over Fifty Fitness platform that I put on hold when I left for Charlottetown at the end of September.
  • Health: I’m shifting my focus to nutrition now that my weight is where I want it to be. I’m aiming for 5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day. And I want to research protein needs for women my age, because I get conflicting information everywhere I look.
  • Reading: I’m keeping my goal of 6 books for October.
  • Intentional living: 4 Tidy-Up Tuesday blitzes
  • Retirement coaching: Schedule my new Retirement Uncluttered workshop.

  1. Congrats on a very productive month, Michelle! 🙏 Love how you always find a mix of physical and mental enjoyment, while also getting some professional and cleaning work mixed into it too. I just try to stay awake on Tuesdays. 😂 Good luck with your October goals!

    1. Thanks Ab. I like to have a good mix of goals to stay motivated. I’m feeling like they’re getting a bit repetitive so I might have to sprinkle in some new things to keep life interesting. 😂

I'd love to hear your ideas. Drop me a comment below.
